The Jewish Institute of Queens provides an active, versatile, and challenging learning environment
in which students are primed for life in a changing world.
We offer the opportunity for a quality education to meet the varied intellectual, cultural, physical, social and emotional needs of each child so that he or she may become a self-reliant, conscientious, and productive citizen.

Welcome to our General Studies information page.

I'm Mrs. Seideman, your Principal.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. It gives me great pleasure to welcome you.
When the Jewish Institute of Queens initially opened its doors seven years ago as a developing school with 5 classes (first through third grade), the entire staff was determined for each child to be successful and to make a difference in their lives. We all believed in the journey Mr. Leviev was about to take in education and were committed to his vision.
As the school evolved from a total of 80 students’ in 2001, to our current enrollment of over 650 students Mr. Leviev’s vision had become a reality. As a Pre-K through Grade 12 School, we have the privilege of being a part of both the primary and secondary stages of our students` learning.
Our mission in the elementary school is to instill a love of learning through a hands on approach. To be aware of each child’s individual ability to learn and to cater to those children who need extra help or who need enrichment. We want each child to wake up each morning excited to come to school and to be prepared to learn each day.
It has become our goal to instill a love of learning in each student and to prepare them for the educational journey they are about to embark on. We are proud to say that through all of the hard work and determination from our teachers and support staff we are accomplishing this goal.
All of us at The Jewish Institute of Queens along with our dedicated parents and enthusiastic students are committed to provide the very best education to each and every child. I am hoping that this website tour brings our uniquely interesting school to life and I very much look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Seideman, General Studies Principal
